How to Track Your Vape Order: Every Stage Explained

A tracking number feels like it should answer one question — where is my parcel — and most of the time it does not, because tracking is not a live position feed. It is a log of scan events, and between scans your parcel is somewhere nobody has recorded.

Understanding what each status means, and how long a silence is normal, turns tracking from a source of anxiety into a useful signal. This guide walks through the stages in order, the gaps between them, and when a quiet tracker has become a real problem. For the packing side, see how vape orders are packed and shipped; for the timeline itself, our piece on EU vape delivery times sets expectations by destination.

What tracking actually records

Every status you see is a physical event: a parcel was scanned at a location. Nothing more. There is no continuous position, no live map, and no scan during the hours a parcel spends on a truck or in an aircraft. The gaps you notice are not lost parcels; they are unrecorded transit.

Two practical consequences follow. First, the last scan is where your parcel was, not where it is. Second, a tracker that has not updated in two days is usually working correctly, because nothing has happened that anyone scanned.

The stages, in order

Status you seeWhat has physically happenedTypical wait from here
Order data received / label createdThe label exists; the parcel may not be with the carrier yetSame or next working day to first scan
Parcel collected / acceptedThe carrier has it at the origin depot1 to 2 working days
Processed at sorting centreIt has been sorted for its route1 to 3 working days
In transitOn its way between depots or countries2 to 5 working days
Arrived at destination countryIt has crossed into the delivery network1 to 2 working days
Out for deliveryOn a van todayHours
Delivered / delivery attemptedThe route endedDone

The first row is the one that causes most confusion. "Order data received" or "label created" means the shipment has been registered electronically, and it can appear on the tracker before the parcel is physically handed over. That state can sit for a day while orders are batched, and it is not a sign that anything has gone wrong.

Why tracking goes quiet for days

Three things cause long silences, and all three are normal:

  • Linehaul between hubs. Long-distance movement inside the network is often unrecorded, so a parcel can travel for two or three days with no new scan and then reappear close to its destination.
  • Weekend and public holidays. Sorting centres work reduced hours, so a Friday scan is frequently followed by nothing until Monday or Tuesday.
  • Handover between carriers. When a parcel changes operator, the old tracking number can go stale while the new one is not yet linked. The shop can usually supply the second number on request.

If a tracker has been silent for three working days and the parcel is domestic, that is the point at which a message to the shop is worth sending. Stuck for five or more working days, or a status that has not changed after it said "arrived at destination country", is worth chasing properly.

Customs, and why an EU parcel still stops

Within the EU single market, goods move without border duties, but parcels can still pause for a customs or VAT check, and a scan may sit at that stage for a day or two without updates. The rule that governs who pays any VAT and when is explained in our guide to EU import VAT and customs on vape parcels.

If your order ships from stock held inside the EU, this stage is usually short, because the product has already cleared. That is one of the practical differences between domestic stock and a cross-border shipment, and it is the reason the EU warehouse range is organised the way it is.

When tracking never updates at all

A tracking number that shows no scan whatsoever, days after ordering, is a different situation from a silent tracker. It means one of three things: the label was generated but the parcel was not handed over, the number is for a different parcel, or the shipment was never dispatched. In that case the shop needs to check the handover record rather than you waiting longer.

This is also the point at which it is worth checking the sender rather than just the parcel. Unexpectedly cheap listings, off-platform payment requests and shops with no verifiable address are the classic patterns of a fraudulent seller rather than a slow carrier, and our guide to avoiding vape shipping scams sets out how to tell the difference before you order.

What to do when you chase it

When you contact the shop, the useful message contains the order number, the tracking number and the last status you can see. That is enough for the shop to look up the handover record immediately rather than asking you to describe the problem. If needed, our notes on your rights on a damaged or missing parcel explain who carries the risk and what evidence to collect if it has gone missing rather than merely quiet.

If the parcel is eventually declared lost, the remedy usually runs through a replacement or refund rather than a carrier claim by you, because the seller is the carrier's customer. The process for faulty or incorrect goods is set out separately in our guide to returns and warranty for vape orders.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my tracking say "label created" for two days?

Because the shipment is registered before the parcel is collected. Orders are prepared in batches, so there can be a one- or two-day gap between the electronic entry and the first physical scan. Nothing is wrong unless it persists past the promised dispatch window.

How long should I wait before chasing a parcel?

Three working days with no new scan is a reasonable point to ask. Five or more, or a parcel stuck after reaching the destination country, deserves a proper enquiry.

Does a tracking number mean my parcel is covered?

It means the shipment is recorded. Liability for a lost or damaged parcel sits with the seller under EU distance-selling rules until delivery, which is a separate protection from the tracking itself.

Can I change the delivery address after ordering?

Sometimes, if the parcel has not been collected, and rarely once it is in the network. The earlier you ask, the better the odds. Ask before the first scan rather than after.

My tracker says delivered but nothing arrived. What now?

Check with neighbours and any safe place first, then contact the shop the same day. A "delivered" scan with no parcel is normally resolved by the seller with the carrier, and the evidence to gather is described in our missing parcel guide.

Does a blinking device matter for tracking?

No, but if a vape device is blinking or faulty when it arrives, that is a warranty question rather than a delivery one. Our blink code decoder helps you identify what the device is reporting.

The short version

Tracking is a log of scans, not a live position, so silences of two or three days are normal, especially over weekends and during carrier handovers. Read the status literally: "label created" means handover is pending, "in transit" covers unrecorded linehaul, and "arrived in destination country" is where the final short leg begins. Chase the shop at three working days of silence, and immediately if the tracker has never scanned at all, because that pattern points to dispatch rather than transit. For everything before the parcel leaves, see how orders are packed and shipped and the shipping notes in our buying guides.
