If you have tried to pay for vapes with a card recently, you have probably hit a wall. Most major card networks and large payment processors refuse vape merchants outright. The result is that the European vape market runs on bank transfer — and it works well once you know the routine.
Why cards often fail on vape orders
The refusal is not a technical fault and it is not specific to one shop. Payment processors classify vaping as a restricted category, so a vape merchant cannot easily obtain a standard card-processing account. Some shops take cards through specialist high-risk providers at high cost; many simply do not offer cards at all.
For a buyer this creates a frustrating cycle: the card form appears, the payment is declined, and the order sits unpaid. Bank transfer sidesteps the whole problem.
What SEPA transfer is
SEPA is the Single Euro Payments Area — the EU-wide system that lets a euro payment move from any bank account in the area to any other at domestic cost, usually within one business day.
- SEPA Credit Transfer (SCT) — a normal transfer, typically arriving the same or next business day.
- SEPA Instant (SCT Inst) — funds usually arrive within seconds, 24 hours a day.
Both are ordinary transfers from your own online banking. You do not need a new account or a special app.
The order process, step by step
- Add your products to the cart and go to checkout. Enter your delivery details as normal.
- Choose "SEPA Bank Transfer" as the payment method. No card details are requested at any point.
- Place the order. Your order is created and reserved, and the stock is held for you.
- You receive the payment instructions — on the order-confirmation page and by email — showing the account name, IBAN, BIC and the exact amount in euro.
- Make the transfer from your own bank for the exact amount shown. Payment must be in EUR.
- Put the reference in the payment note. This is the step people most often skip, and it is the one that causes delays.
- We match the payment to your order and move it into processing. You will see the order status change.
Getting the payment reference right
Your transfer needs to carry a note identifying the order. Include, in this order:
- Your buyer name as used on the order,
- the invoice or order number,
- and the product (a short description is enough).
Without a reference the payment arrives as an anonymous credit, and matching it can take days — or, in the worst case, it cannot be matched at all. If you have already sent a payment without a reference, contact support with your order number and the transfer amount and we will trace it.
Practical points that trip people up
| Issue | What to do |
|---|---|
| Non-euro account | Ask your bank to send EUR; a converted payment may arrive short after fees |
| Bank fees deducted | Send the exact order total; if fees apply choose "sender pays" |
| Transfer from a different name | Put the order number in the reference so it can still be matched |
| Weekend transfer | Standard SEPA may not move until the next business day — SEPA Instant avoids this |
| Wrong amount | Contact support; the order will usually be adjusted or part-refunded rather than cancelled |
Is bank transfer safe?
Yes, and in one respect it is safer than a card: you never hand your card details to the merchant, so there is nothing to leak or charge later. The trade-off is that a transfer is not designed to be reversed. Two habits keep you safe:
- Only transfer to the account stated on the order confirmation. Never to an account number sent later by email or chat, even if the message looks like it comes from the shop.
- Keep your transfer receipt until the order status shows as processing or completed.
All our payment instructions are shown on the order-confirmation page and repeated in the order email. Read more on our shipping and order page.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a SEPA transfer take?
A standard SEPA credit transfer usually arrives the same or next business day. SEPA Instant typically lands within seconds. Your order is packed once the payment is received.
Can I pay by card instead?
Most vape merchants, including us, cannot offer standard card payments because processors restrict the category. Bank transfer is the payment method we currently support.
Do you accept PayPal?
No. PayPal's acceptable-use policy prohibits e-cigarette and vape transactions, so it is not available to vape merchants at all.
Can I pay in a currency other than euro?
Payment must be received in EUR. Prices may be displayed in other currencies for convenience, but the transfer itself has to be in euro.
What if I forget the payment reference?
Contact support with your order number, the amount and the date of the transfer. We will locate it and mark the order as paid.
Ready to order?
Checkout takes a minute, payment instructions arrive immediately, and orders ship from Berlin in 3–5 working days.
For adults 18+ only. Never send payment to bank details received outside the order-confirmation page.
