"How long will this actually last me?" is the most practical question about any disposable vape β and the hardest one to answer from a product page. Puff ratings are a capacity figure, not a calendar. Here is how to convert one into the other in about thirty seconds.
The only two numbers you need
Everything comes down to two inputs:
- The puff rating printed on the box.
- Your own daily puff count β the number of draws you take in a day.
Divide the first by the second and you have your answer in days. The trouble is nobody knows their own number, so start there.
Work out your daily puff count
Do not try to count a whole day. Count one session instead:
- Coffee break / 10 minutes of steady vaping: roughly 50 puffs
- One cigarette-equivalent moment: roughly 15β20 puffs
- Continuous background vaping while working: roughly 80β120 puffs per hour
Multiply by your typical number of sessions. Someone who takes four 10-minute breaks and vapes a little in the evening lands around 250β350 puffs a day. A heavy user doing an hour of continuous background vaping plus breaks can easily hit 700.

Read that table critically. A 100,000-puff device lasting "two years" only holds if the battery, coil and e-liquid survive that long β which they generally will not. Physical shelf life usually caps a disposable at somewhere between six months and a year after first use.
What usually ends a disposable's life first
- Running out of e-liquid β the advertised end point, and the only one most people expect.
- Battery degradation. Rechargeable disposables use small lithium cells. After a few hundred charge cycles they hold noticeably less, so you recharge more often for the same puffs.
- Coil fouling. Sweet and heavily flavoured liquids caramelise on the mesh. Flavour fades and the draw gets harsh long before the liquid is gone.
- Shelf life. Opened and partly used, a disposable sitting in a drawer for a year will taste flat and may leak.
Practical consequence: past roughly 60,000 puffs, capacity stops being the limiting factor. Buy for the battery and build quality, not the number.
Making a disposable last longer (honestly)
- Shorter draws. A 2β3 second pull uses far less liquid than a 5β6 second one, and the rating is based on the short version.
- Normal power mode. Boost and "power" modes exist to produce clouds β they trade runtime for vapour.
- Airflow not fully open. Closing the airflow slightly reduces liquid consumption per puff.
- Keep it out of heat. A hot car or a sunny windowsill thins the liquid and encourages leakage.
- Recharge before it is fully flat. Topping up a lithium cell from 30 % is kinder to it than repeated deep discharge.
Buying to a schedule, not a number
If you know you vape about 300 puffs a day, you can plan purchases properly:
- Monthly reorder β a 10K or 12K device.
- Every two months β 20K or 25K.
- Twice a year β 50K or 60K.
- Once a year or less β Big Puffs 120K+.
Note that on very high-capacity devices the flavour generally weakens in the final third. If you dislike that, two 25K devices will serve you better than one 50K.
